minibook ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mobile application that provides condensed book summaries and short-form insights. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account information: your email address and a hashed password when you create an account.
- Reading activity: which books you read, your reading progress, saved books, saved insights, and reading session durations.
- Preferences: your chosen categories, reading goals, and reader display settings (font size, theme).
- Purchase status: whether you have purchased lifetime access (paid or free tier). We do not store payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and personalize the app experience (e.g., showing recommended books based on your categories).
- To sync your reading progress and saved content across sessions.
- To manage your account and purchase status.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
- Supabase (supabase.com) — hosts our database and handles authentication. Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure. See their privacy policy.
- RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) — manages in-app purchases. RevenueCat receives your app user ID and purchase receipts from Apple or Google Play. See their privacy policy.
- Apple — processes payments for in-app purchases made through the App Store. Apple's payment terms and privacy policy apply to those transactions.
- Google — processes payments for in-app purchases made through Google Play. Google's payment terms and privacy policy apply to those transactions.
We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or ad tracking services.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security enabled, meaning each user can only access their own data. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using the platform's secure storage.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your personal data (reading history, saved content, preferences, and account information) is permanently deleted from our database immediately.
6. Your Rights
You can:
- Access your data — your reading history, saved books, and preferences are visible in the app.
- Delete your account — go to Settings and tap "Delete Account." This permanently removes all your data. See how to delete your account for full details, including what is deleted and what is retained.

7. Children's Privacy
minibook is intended for users aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
